In total, twenty Sunshine Coast Region Tennis Clubs and Associations participated in the 2010 Come and Try Day. The clubs and associations spanned from Gympie in the North,
Murgon in the West and Landsborough, Caloundra and Glenview/Mooloolah in the South. The Sunshine Coast Regional Tennis Assembly initiative was a success for most of the participating clubs. It's success and the future of the 2010 Come and try Day will be discussed at the next regional Assembly meeting May. Clubs and associations opened their courts to anyone who wanted to come along for a game of tennis. Juniors and adults were welcome, clubs organised a range of activities, including set play, coaching lessons. The feedback from the clubs and associations was that local advertising was vital, signs and posters displayed around the local communities, as well as radio and newspaper advertising seemed to attract locals. |
